Es conocida por millones alrededor del mundo como AMMA. Los medios de comunicación se refieren a ella como “La Madre de Compasión”debido a su amplia labor humanitaria. También es conocida como “La Santa de Los Abrazos”, ya que más de 30 millones de personas los han recibido. A AMMA le fue otorgado el premio de la no violencia (Gandhi-King) ante las Naciones Unidas en Octubre, 2002.
